Public Relations/Management

•  PR spokesperson for fire prevention outreach to kids aimed at education around fire ecology and differing suppression tactics.

•  Led community fire education activities and home inspections to increase awareness and involvement in fire prevention efforts.

•  Collaborated on and presented a strategic management plan for Voodoo Doughnuts. Plan identified several solutions including re-structuring the organization horizontally in order to cater to each store’s unique identity and ever changing external environments.


Marketing

•  Created a strategic business plan for experiential marketing firm (NW Polite Society) with a strategic focus of increasing revenues from sponsorship acquisition services and improving social media to be a more effective leveraging tool in attracting new clients.

•  Spearheaded marketing consultation team that designed and implemented an integrated marketing communications plan for a Eugene Mexican restaurant. Proposal plans to increase sales with a target market of working professionals on their lunch break.

•  Conducted negotiation and acquisition analysis of the ABInbev/SABMiller deal (now one of the world’s largest consumer products companies) identifying key changes that could have been made in the negotiation process to improve the outcome and relationships.

•  Developed promotional strategy and tactical implementation plan for a music event production company (Head Space Productions) that led to an increase in ticket sales.

•  Designed consumer consultation proposal for the University of Oregon REC Center. Used consumer behavior principles to provide recommendations on how to improve the customer experience and overall functionality of the facility.


Entrepreneurship

•  Built startup business plan for an apartment and housing review website aimed at establishing a first mover advantage in the student housing sector of the $200 million dollar review website industry.

•  Designed host program for University of Oregon that provides international students an alternative to staying in Eugene over holiday breaks by matching them with local host families to help integrate them into American culture.

Led several startup business/implementation plans:

1.     ThermoFlask— a truly portable self heating thermos that eliminates the bulky design and long term fuel costs of portable recreational food heating devices (e.g. Jetboils). Grants consumers the ability to prepare a hot meal wherever they go.

2.     Flock App— developed to be a part of the daily group deals market, with a specific emphasis on group oriented activities (Groupon of real time social media).

3.     Social Scene— app that creates a unique newsfeed of what your network is up to in real time (events, parties, sports, etc.).

4.     University Bar and Grill— Conducted a feasibility/financial analysis for a new bar of my design in Eugene, OR.

Wild Land Fire Suppression Specialist, Oregon Department of Forestry, Medford, OR                 2011-2015

•  Protected Southern Oregon’s forest and rural lands from wildfire; operate and manage a Type 4 fire engine.

•  Oversaw 20 firefighting personnel comprised of Private Contractors, Inmates, and both Federal and State Employees, while acting as an Incident Commander of a fire. Ensured personnel safety, tactics, and efficiency in performing successful firefighting operations to mitigate threat to lives and property.

•  Ensured compliance with State Forest laws to diminish threat of wildfire and damage to the public and forests by issuing citations when needed.

•  Managed and patrolled a protection area of over a million acres of Federal, State, and Private Lands.

•  Coordinated locations, tactics, personnel, and equipment needs through radio communication with lookouts, interagency firefighters, helicopters, dozers, and dispatch to eliminate the danger of growing wildfires.
